2 day class
If you wish to weave wide pieces of fabric, this class is a must! You will learn how to use two heddles enabling you to weave two layers of fabric simultaneously. This expands the capacity of the relatively narrow rigid heddle loom to weave wider fabrics. For example, two layers of fabric can be woven joined at one edge on a 20 inch warp which, when opened up, measures 40 inches in width. Double weave also enables you to make doubly thick fabric.
In this two-day class you will warp two heddles using the direct warping method and weave a throw or baby blanket. When your project comes off the loom it will go from a 17″ width to 34″ width. You can then full it to make a nice soft throw or baby blanket that will be approximately 30″ wide.
You must bring your own loom if you wish to complete this project. You will need to be able to weave with two heddles on your loom. (Not all rigid heddle looms will accommodate two heddles, so check that yours does). Materials and a pattern are included in the cost of the class.
We also have looms for sale if you wish to purchase your own. For this class you will need an additional 8-dent reed. If you wish to purchase a loom to use in this class and an 8-dent reed, please call us at (254) 300-2436 at least a week before the class. (You are eligible for a 10% discount on purchases made at the time of class.)

This class is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is an advanced class that requires experience weaving on a rigid heddle loom.
Prerequisite: Rigid Heddle 101 and at least one 200 level class.
All our classes close 24 hours before the class date with the exception of classes that start on Monday, which will close the Friday before. If there’s a class that closed early that you’d like to attend, please call us at 254-754-9620 to check for availability.
Note: Since our workshops are specifically designed for adults, an individual must be 18 years old to enroll in a class. All students should wear practical work clothes and shoes. For your safety, we ask that you do not wear shorts or sandals to a class you are attending.
