Description
In this class you will learn how to create a beautiful Brook’s Bouquet lace pattern scarf. Brook’s Bouquet is a finishing technique that can be used very effectively to weave lace. You will learn how to calculate the number of threads necessary for this particular design and the weaving technique for creating the lace. The finishing technique you will learn is Italian hemstitching. You will be weaving with a cotton/wool blend yarn.
You can finish the project at home
Please remember to bring the following to class:
loom
an 8-dent reed and one 12” stick shuttle
warping peg
threading hook
paper or sticks for winding on
scissors
tape measure
reed
fabric strips
lacing on cord
cardboard or sticks for front beam
Prerequisite: Rigid Heddle 100 – Introduction to the Rigid Heddle Loom
All our classes close 24 hours before the class date with the exception of classes that start on Monday, which will close the Friday before. If there’s a class that closed early that you’d like to attend, please call us at 254-754-9620 to check for availability.
Note: Since our workshops are specifically designed for adults, an individual must be 18 years old to enroll in a class. All students should wear practical work clothes and shoes. For your safety, we ask that you do not wear shorts or sandals to a class you are attending.
