How to plant and maintain fruit and nut trees, grapes and berries.
This is an introductory seminar/workshop that offers information and instruction in growing your own fruits, nuts and berries. Although our experience involves the growing methods and varieties suitable to the south and southwest, many of the organic techniques that we teach can be applied to most climatic zones. This class will cover the following topics: planning an orchard, planting, pruning, pest control and harvesting. This class will involve outdoor activities.
Please bring a wide-brimmed hat and wear long sleeves. Also, bring appropriate clothing for cold or inclement weather. No shorts or sandals, please.
This class is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All our classes close 24 hours before the class date with the exception of classes that start on Monday, which will close the Friday before. If there’s a class that closed early that you’d like to attend, please call us at 254-754-9620 to check for availability.
