1 day class
In this workshop students will learn how to work a basic cable stitch. Once students have mastered this technique, they will be able to knit many different pattern variations such as those used in the intricate designs that characterize Aran sweaters. Students will learn several basic cable variations and will learn how to read and work from charts. In class we will knit a swatch using up to five different cable patterns. Students may also choose to begin a cable patterned headband. We will use size 7 or 8 needles. Students may bring their own or purchase at the time of class. Yarn, handouts, pattern for the headband, and a cable needle will be provided and are included in the cost of class materials. Before taking this class you should have mastered the basics of knitting (knit and purl).
This class is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
All our classes close 24 hours before the class date with the exception of classes that start on Monday, which will close the Friday before. If there’s a class that closed early that you’d like to attend, please call us at 254-754-9620 to check for availability.
Note: Since our workshops are specifically designed for adults, an individual must be 18 years old to enroll in a class. All students should wear practical work clothes and shoes. For your safety, we ask that you do not wear shorts or sandals to a class you are attending.
