Learn to Build a Brazos Dining Chair
This original design offers a sturdy but elegant chair that will stand the test of time—a dining chair that you can certainly pass down from generation to generation and one that is quite comfortable too.
This course offers you the ability to learn the skills necessary to build many types of dining room chairs, from arm chairs to side chairs. We will build an armchair in the class unless you specify that you would like to build a side chair.
We are offering this class as a one-time offering per the request of a student. You will learn how to cut multiple mortise-and-tenon joints as well as how to cut angled tenons. You will also learn how to make a cabriole leg, from laying it out to shaping its curves.
Each person will leave with one completed armchair made out of cherry. In this class, we make this chair in cherry. If you would prefer to make it in walnut, it will be an additional $120.00.
This class is from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Class Size: 6
Prerequisite: Six-Day Foundational Joinery Course
NOTE: This class will close 1 week prior to the start date of the class.
